We are delighted to invite i-sense researchers to our closed i-sense seminar "Diagnostics from Bench to Bedside: A Fragmented Pathway", given by Professor Rosanna Peeling on Thursday 12th November at 9.00-10.00 at the Globe Room, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Keppel St, London WC1E 7HT.

Abstract

George Whitesides, a global leader in diagnostics development, wrote that,"One focus of lab-on-a-chip technologies has been the creation of point-of-care diagnostics. Publications describing these efforts have appeared at an exponentially increasing rate. Despite this activity, the promise of devices that allow personalised, affordable healthcare remains, to a large extent, just that: a promise."  This seminar will focus on the design, development and evaluation of diagnostics and examine lessons learnt from these empty promises.

The seminar is open to i-sense members only and will be 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes for questions. There is no registration, but there are limited seats available so places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
